We reported earlier this year that Mother Nature beat us when it came to our race on January 1st!  Thus Mother Nature 1-Polar Bears 0.  This past weekend we evened the score!  The Polar Bear Biathlon Club hosted a race on February 1st with a record field for us!  We had 20 register, but due to sickness ended up with 18 racers.  With the cold and a pending JNQ race immediately following the biathlon race, all classes raced 7.5 km.  The temperature at race time had dropped from 12 degrees at daybreak of 3 degrees by 10 a.m.  Still, the sun was out and the winds died down to make it a great day for a biathlon race.  With the addition of a new Nordic Tiller, the race course was in excellent condition.  The U17 class was won by Tyler Rudolph and Megan Greene;  The U19 class was won by Connor Hrynuk; Masters Men was won by Sean Halligan; Grandmaster Women was won by Lesley Leach; Grand Master Men was won by Thomas Hay; Novice Men was won by Robert Winter; and Novice Women was won by Stina Bridgeman.  For the full results you can sign into Webscorer.  The web address is:  http://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=36145.

We would like to thank everyone for joining us on Sunday.  Hopefully you will return for our summer biathlons coming in June and August!
