The biathlon season is upon us!  Our National Level biathletes are already racing and our season is soon to be kicked off!  As of this weekend Old Forge received approximately 15 inches of new snow.  Heavy wet snow, the kind that makes great bases for race courses.  With that in mind, we hope to hold what we have through the next week of warm weather.  If we are lucky we will be ready for our first biathlon of the season, January 3rd.  Registration is at 8:30 with zero at 9:00 and race start at 10:00 a.m.  You can register for the this race on skireg.com.  Online registration can be paid on race day for $20; day of race registration will be $25.  All race classes will ski 7.5 km.  Come out and enjoy the day!

For those that want to rack up a few more kms. that day, at noon there will be a Wilkinson Cup Qualifier hosted by the Polar Bear Nordic Club.  It  is a 5 km race for all classes except Master and Senior Men, who will race 10 km.  This will be a freestyle race.

Come out and enjoy a day of racing!  Please check back for updates on the course conditions before heading to Old Forge!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
