{"id":168,"date":"2009-10-31T13:03:46","date_gmt":"2009-10-31T18:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nybiathlon.org\/blog\/?page_id=168"},"modified":"2009-10-31T13:03:46","modified_gmt":"2009-10-31T18:03:46","slug":"safety","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/biathlon.nyssranordic.org\/?page_id=168","title":{"rendered":"Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RIFLE SAFETY REQUIREMENT<\/strong>:\u00a0 All biathletes must acknowledge the need for the highest level of safety during all events.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All competitors must pass a rifle safety certification course before they can compete.\u00a0 These safety courses are frequently provided prior to the start of an event.\u00a0 The event organizer should be contacted as part of advanced registration to confirm that such a course will be offered.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Every athlete is expected to present a rifle safety certification card at registration. If the athlete does not have a card at registration, the points list can be used as a back-up.\u00a0 If an individual does not have a card and is not on the points list, then they must participate in the Safety Clinic before they compete.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Safety must always be the first consideration whenever handling a firearm.\u00a0 Please read and practice the following safety rules for biathlon as disqualification (DSQ) can occur if they are not followed.\u00a0 Every biathlete should be responsive to the actions of all persons handling firearms on and off the range.
