{"id":1236894,"date":"2010-02-10T17:42:51","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T22:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nyssranordic.com\/word_press\/?p=1154"},"modified":"2010-02-10T17:42:51","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T22:42:51","slug":"rxcsf-mid-winter-ski-festival-results-and-video-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biathlon.nyssranordic.org\/?p=1236894","title":{"rendered":"RXCSF Mid Winter Ski Festival Results and Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><br \/>\nOn January 30th and 31st,\u00a057 skiers, including 42 from GVBKYS\/RXCSF Youth Skiing and 15 out-of-towners, enjoyed a fabulous Festival at Bristol Summit XC Center.\u00a0 Congratulations to all of the skiers who extolled the Olympic virtues of Excellence, Respect and Friendship.\u00a0 There were many exciting skate and classic races at every level each morning.\u00a0\u00a0<span id=\"lw_1265817450_2\" class=\"yshortcuts\">Saturday afternoon<\/span>&#8216;s\u00a0competition\u00a0emphasized teamwork and camaraderie,\u00a0with skiers divided into\u00a0five teams named after each color of the Olympic rings.\u00a0 Red, Yellow, Blue, Black and Green teams competed against one another and treasure hunted for Olympic flags and\u00a0participated in contests to see who could catch big air on the jump, creatively ski\/slide\u00a0under the limbo pole and\u00a0not drop the egg on the spoon in the relay.\u00a0 Making jump turns at 90\/180\/270\/360 degree angles, one-legged gliding and a slalom relay rounded out Saturday&#8217;s events.\u00a0 The weekend&#8217;s events culminated in an open fun relay where parents and coaches enjoyed racing\u00a0with and against some of the finest young skiers this side of Vancouver!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/9144180\">2010 RXCSF Youth Skiing Festival &#8211; Race<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user627156\">Dan Judd<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span id=\"lw_1265817450_3\" class=\"yshortcuts\">Saturday night<\/span>&#8216;s Festival banquet at Steamboat Landing in Canandaigua\u00a0was attended by 109 skiers and\u00a0parents who enjoyed a pasta dinner, a beautiful slide show of the day&#8217;s events,\u00a0door prizes for all skiers,\u00a0an awards ceremony which included ribbons for all participants and\u00a0a commemorative 2010 Olympic cross-country ski pin, and the hit game &#8220;Are You Smarter Than a Bill Kocher?&#8221;\u00a0 A huge thank you goes out to all of the many parents and\u00a0volunteers who worked tirelessly both behind the scene and on the scene to produce a wonderful weekend that the youth skiers will always treasure.\u00a0 With all of the fun we had this weekend, who even remembers that we drove up South Hill\u00a0Road to the summit early\u00a0<span id=\"lw_1265817450_4\" class=\"yshortcuts\">Saturday morning<\/span> in sub-zero tempeartures?!?!
