{"id":578,"date":"2010-11-17T07:23:22","date_gmt":"2010-11-17T12:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nybiathlon.org\/blog\/?p=578"},"modified":"2010-11-17T07:23:22","modified_gmt":"2010-11-17T12:23:22","slug":"empire-state-games-cancelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biathlon.nyssranordic.org\/?p=578","title":{"rendered":"Empire State Games Cancelled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following message was sent out from the ESG office:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">It is with great regret and sadness that I must inform you of the cancellation of the 2011 Empire State Games&#8217; programs.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">We have been informed that there will be no appropriation for any of the Empire State Games programs in the coming year, and two of our five staff members have been laid off effective the end of the year.\u00a0 The other three have been re-assigned within the State Parks agency.\u00a0 With no money and no staff, we have no program.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">Perhaps in the future the economic climate will improve, and the Games will experience a rebirth.\u00a0 For now I thank you all for your hard work, your dedication and support.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">Best Regards,<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: Garamond;color: blue;font-size: small\">Lisa<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS;color: navy;font-size: x-small\">Lisa Del Signore<\/span>\u00a0<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Comic Sans MS;color: navy;font-size: x-small\">Games Administrator<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This announcement does not affect any other races scheduled throughout New York.
