The World Famous Osceola Pie Race was Sweet!

This years course was a challenging mix of steep climbs and fast descents on soft but fast conditions.

A large crowd of racers ranging from U1 Bill Koch skiers to masters enjoyed the best conditions of the year.

Winners in age group divisions earned the tastiest prizes for their efforts.

As the first leg of the Wilkinson Cup all NYSSRA racers were able to get double points for their clubs. Racers of all ages were able to compare their time to Section III racers who skied an identical course earlier in the day (check back for results in High school beat).

Adirondak Vaughti,Cayuga Nordic,  Hurt, Polar Bear Ski Club, and Wolverine Ski Club brought solid numbers to vie for winning Team competition. Watch out for those Polar Bears in 2 weeks at their home course McCauley Mtn.

Top U16 Racer Emily Greene raced a speedy 20:17 which was the 5th overall for Women, and just 20 seconds behind Megan Green (top U18 racer)

Top open women :Ashley Forshey Of Clarkson University, and Anna Rayne of Camden.

Masters women: Julie Hinsdale with an impressive 18:26

Masters men had a close race with Matt Torniannan narrowly missing the top of the podium with 17:10.

For those of you who missed this excellent race, mark your Calendars for the Upcoming Polar Bear JOQ races. At Mccauley Mountain on January 3rd and 4th.  Sunday’s race is the second Wilkinson Cup race.
