{Check here for Updates on NYSSRA Nordic Championship- we will decide Wednesday if we need to relocate due to in-climate weather. Saratoga and Gore will be considered as alternate sites, but the GHN course has a solid base and just needs a bit of midweek powder}.
The final 2 racing blocks before this year NYSSRA Nordic Championship are complete. HURT won the prior block.  PERU, HURT and GHN will all need some fast relay teams – especially Women’s and Mixed relay teams to make their last push for this years club championship banner. Check out the season points standings. Awards for age group and will be based on these and the championships distance race. The Club Championship will also include the relay races.
The Mini Marathon was won by Matt Torniainen {By a boot slide over perennial champ mike Wynn}, and undefeated Deb Nordyke. The race was held on nice soft fast conditions. Overnight the mercury fell- and so did more than a few skiers on hard slippery conditions. Racers enjoyed firm fast conditions for the Glenville Hills Classic. Tracks were rock solid, but the snow was like greased lightning, making for speedy double poling and some tricky corners. Chris Yarsevich returned, and stayed on his feet to take the top step of the podium for the second year in a row.
This has been quite a season. Clubs held 22 races this year, more than the last several years. Man made snow was available when mother nature was not. We have incorporated some man made snow for championships this year to make sure we will have high quality events.
As usual we will be naming our “Red Group, and Age Group champions. they will receive NYSSRA Nordic 2019  caps  with our brand new logo. The top U16 Jrs and master are eligible for our champion jacket this year. We also have some excellent raffle prizes for our participants including gloves, wax, and world class poles. -Sign up and come out for the finale!
