The Polar Bear and Syracuse Biathlon Clubs are excited to announce the introduction of their Summer Biathlon Point Series.  This consists of six races over the summer between the two venues where participants will earn points based on their age group and shooting performance as well as participation level.  With this inaugural season we will name female & male champions for the novice group, 18 and under and 19+.  Champions will receive a special award, gift certificate good for one race entry to either club’s event and undying glory.    Our first race kicks off at Syracuse on June 22 with a combined instructional clinic & sprint race followed by a sprint event at Old Forge on June 30th.  Details for both events can be found at the links below:

How’s it work?  Points will be accumulated over the six events using the following criteria:

Age Group Finish – 25 points for the first place AG finisher, decreasing by 2 for each remaining place (2nd=23, 3rd=21, etc.)
Shooting – 2 points for each target hit
Bonus 1: 10/10 Clean Shooting – 25 points
Bonus 2: 20/20 Clean Shooting – 75 points
Bonus 3: Complete at least one race at each venue – 75 points
Bonus 4: Complete all Summer Series Races – 100 points
Bonus 5:  Receive double Age Group and Shooting points during the Syracuse/Polar Bear Pursuit Weekend Challenge (July 13 & 14)
