Eric Seyse remains the top dog on the NYSSRA leader board after winning the inaugural Tri-HURT-Athon race in Queensbury on Sunday.  In spite of marginal snow conditions, Team HURT managed to pull off a great race, featuring a 1.5 km Classic prologue sprint, followed by an 11.5 km freestyle pursuit.  Seyse finished just behind Martin Donnelly-Heg in the sprint, but charged to victory in the pursuit.  Austin Huneck, sitting third in the NYSSRA red group, won the junior race, and finished in an impressive 4th place overall.  The Tri-HURT-athon was the last NYSSRA points race before the NYSSRA championship race on Saturday, February 27.   This weekend’s Empire State Games are not scored in the NYSSRA points series.

POINTS SERIES

Team HURT has all but wrapped up the Club Championship Series with a monster showing at their home race.  HURT is comfortably ahead of Peru Nordic Masters and NYSEF, who look to battle for second overall at the NYSSRA champs.  The Championship weekend also features the Club Championship Relay, this 3 x 3 km relay (classic- free- free) will allow NYSSRA clubs to duke it out head-to-head.  Be sure to register a team for the Club Championship Relay.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Remember, the NYSSRA points series and Club Championship Series both wrap up at the NYSSRA Championship weekend hosted by the Saratoga Biathlon Club in Day, NY.  Age class award winners must finish the 21 km champions cup race in order to be eligible for prizes. Register now!
