NY Biathlon was well represented this past weekend in Jericho VT with 4 Saratoga Biathlon Club members taking on competitors from all around the country & Canada at the North American Roller Ski Biathlon Champs. Carly Wynn led NY with 2 victories in the Junior Women races. Sean Doherty took 3rd in the Sprint on Saturday and 2nd in the Pursuit on Sunday in the Youth Men races. Brian Halligan also raced Youth Men and took 11th & 5th. Joe Iwan took both Master Men races. Results are posted on the Ethan Allen Biathlon Club web site.
Sean & Brian also raced Thursday against other Youth Men racers as part of the qualification for the 1st ever Youth Olympics to be held this winter in Innsbruck Austria! Sean won that race and Brian took 4th. That team of 2 boys & 2 girls will be named later this week by USBA.
I think there were 2 other guys from New York there this weekend also. I am not sure,but I think their names were Tim and Lowell? They did ok too. Nice Job NY!
