The Syracuse Biathlon race scheduled for 1/7/12 at Osceola has been cancelled due to inadequate snow conditions. While there’s enough to ski on, the base is thin and we’re concerned about tearing up the trails, impact on equipment and possibility of injury. Warm weather predicted for Friday and Saturday with a chance of rain will just make things worse.
We will be having our race on 1/21/12 – the format of that race will be a sprint format rather than the planned individual. Registration online is available at http://www.skireg.com/. Note that you can register for the race through the site and either pay online or pay the day of the race. Either way, we encourage you to register on line. Registration online ends on 1/20/12 at 5pm. So get on line and register, do your snow dance, and we’ll see you there!
If you did register and paid on line, we can either refund your money, credit the money to our 1/21 race, or you can make a donation to the club! Let the club know at president@syracusebiathlon.com. If we don’t hear from you by 1/20/12 at 5pm, we’ll assume you’ll credit towards that race or are making a donation to the club.
