Since the Calendar for NYSSRA, Nordic is not functioning, the Polar Bear Biathlon Club would like to announce we have scheduled two summer biathlons for this year. The first will be on June 22nd at McCauley Mountain Ski Center. This race will be a modified pursuit race, 5 km total, 5 lap, 4 shooting stops. Registration will open at 8:30, with zeroing commencing at 9:00. A safety clinic will be given at 9:45 with an interval start at 10:00 a.m. Awards will be given to the first three finishers in each category. There will be both competition an sport classes. Registration can be done online by going to Skireg.com. Registration is open and ready! Those registered online will pay $20 and day of race registration will be $25. Online registration will close on Saturday, June 21st at 5 p.m. Be sure to notify us if you need to borrow a rifle. Everyone must be a member of USBA and a biathlon club to race. One day memberships will be available at the race site.
On August 24th we will be hosting our second summer biathlon at Adirondack Woodcraft Camps. The day of race times will be the same as those listed for our June race. This race will be a sprint race approximately 6 km in distance with two shooting stops and three laps. Race fees will be the same as the June race and registration will be online with Skireg.com. Directions to the race are posted on the registration page.
