NYSEF JNQ SUNDAY CHANGED TO FREESTYLE!

Race organizers rallied against a fortnight of warm temperatures and rain to hold terrific cross country, biathlon and ski orienteering competitions this past weekend. Ice tillers and volunteers with shovels at race venues defeated Mother Nature (for now) at Garnet Hill (HURT Mega-Relay), Old Forge (Polar Bear’s JNQ plus BKYSL), Day (Saratoga Biathlon’s sprint & pursuit), Canandaigua (Bristol Mt. BKYS) and Pittsford (Mendon Pond Ski O). Racer turnout and their performances showed equal determination.

While some sets of results are posted on respective club organizer websites others are at 2016-17 Results. JNQ points can be checked in our mid a section: http://www.midaxc.com/home/announcements/oldforgejnqpoints

Meanwhile, optimism and grit are in the picture for the January 21-22 NYSEF JNQ Race Weekend in Lake Placid. Race format is what the USSA XC Junior National Championship will be in March. The weekend is a combined event with the SLU Carnival on Saturday. The Harry Eldridge Memorial Cup will be awarded to the top overall Junior Boy and Girl from the weekend races.
