The games Rocheter JNQ’s, and Polar bear races are complete. Results are trickling in and results and standings should be accurate by early this week. Racers enjoyed temps right around freezing at Dewey Mtn. Consensus is the course is still great, and hopefully we can make racing above the single digits a regular part of the ESWG Friday prologue.
Saturdays Biathlon and XC races were very fast on at freezing snow. This was the racers last chance to ski the games on the Lake placid trails before the completion of the ORDA facelift. next year there should be enough man-made snow to keeps trails covered for the foreseeable future. Jan Wellford dominated with a sub hour performace leading from the gun just as Alison and MacDowell did last year. Had Jan joined the fun Friday it seems he would have been unstoppable in this years Tournado. However that Honor went to Philip Mathews, and Iris Weidmann for Jrs,(with the Masters winners skiing longer courses Amanda Zullo, and Chris Rose (of Peru Nordic). The sprints were once again dominated by the youth field. Sunday morning biathlon was relay format. Fun relays at ESWG’s are fun way to cap off the competition. For XC: Sunday’s classic race served up few surprises. New snowfall was minimal and didn’t cause seasoned racers any trouble.
ESWG keeps results up temporarily

XC 2020 Sprint Championship Results
Rochester results will be posted to season spreadsheet when received.
Rochester held the season’s final JNQ races this weekend. The fastest racers from around the state faced off one last time. Names like Schreiner Mattern and Ralyea were up top where we expect them to be.
Apparently that wasn’t enough racing, so The Polar Bears held some family friendly races on Saturday.
The Tourathon, Hurtathon (feb 8), and Glenville Hills Classic (Feb 16) remain in Block 6 before the final Championship races in Saratoga on February 22-3. Hope for some extra flakes and keep on having a great season.
