As the sun sets over the inaugural weekend of the joint Syracuse Biathlon Club and the Polar Bear Biathlon Club Pursuit Weekend it is deemed a success all the way around!  Our two biathlon clubs joined forces to host two races this weekend.  On Saturday the Syracuse Biathlon Club hosted a Sprint Race.  This was followed on Sunday by a modified Pursuit Race at the McCauley Mountain Ski Center hosted by the Polar Bear Biathlon Club.  Anyone racing both days was eligible for the Pursuit Title for the Weekend.  The top male and female racer for both races will have their names placed on the Pursuit Plaque which will be shared between the two clubs.  The winning male and female will also receive an individual plaque to hang in their homes.  This year’s Pursuit Champions are Tom and Cindy Daly from the Syracuse Biathlon Club!  We congratulate them on their victories!

The results from today’s modified pursuit can be seen on the website called Webscorer.  To see these results log onto http://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=107504.  Congratulations go out to Gary Brackett of the Saratoga Biathlon Club who registered the fastest time of the day by over two minutes.  Gary and Eli Walker tied for the best shooting, both hitting 16 out of 20 shots.  The top woman racer on the day was Lucy Hochschartner from the Lake Placid Biathlon Club.

We also would like to thank Peter Indick, Carl Snow, Jennifer Winter and her two daughters, Deb Fuge, and Lesley Leach for making this race come off without a hitch!  Their work made everything run like clockwork!  This was the final summer biathlon race hosted by the Polar Bear Biathlon Club for this summer! We hope that that everyone will join us on Sunday, December 31st for our first biathlon of the winter season!  This is our traditional New Year’s Resolution Day Race!  Enjoy the rest of the summer biathlon season!
