It is with great regret that the Polar Bear Biathlon Club is cancelling their biathlon race scheduled for Sunday, January 27th. This was to be the second half of the Syracuse-Polar Bear Biathlon Clubs Pursuit Challenge Races. After 36 hours of sleet, freezing rain and rain resulting in approximately two inches of rain the flat areas around the range and the penalty area are under approximately five inches of water. With everything covered in ice from the freezing rain on Wednesday the water has nowhere to drain. Therefore it became necessary for us to cancel this race. I would like to thank everyone who pre-registered for our race, with 27 pre-registered, this would have been our biggest race ever! I hope that we will be able to make it happen next time!
